I highly recommend Techbotics Academy. I have a 10 year old son and an 8 year old daughter. I purchased two kits (one for each of them). The kits arrived today and we are so excited to continue learning the lessons. Set up and instructions are user friendly. I would recommend an adult assist with the set up and first few lessons depending on the age of the learner. There are walkthrough videos (paused and slowed speed down when necessary) and written instructions for each lesson. The videos were so helpful. We had to troubleshoot a couple of times but, we caught on and got the hang of it quickly. The kit is the perfect blend of coding, robotics, and electrical lessons that build up as the lessons go on. I would also like to note that a laptop is necessary and if you have more than one learner working at the same time it is more convenient for each of them to follow along with their own laptop and complete the steps together.
It was so exciting to have the first light turn on! Another thing I like is that the kit is direct and to the point. It has more detail in writing if you prefer to learn that way. However, the lessons dive right in by setting the learner up and completing the first project. We have enjoyed it so much we plan to complete lessons daily. Shipping took 9/6-9/20 (central USA).
We were missing two parts, it took a week to get the parts shipped. It will take up to another 10 days, so my son is behind and hasn't even started week 1.
My son is loving working through these projects. Great clear instructions and gradual progression.
I’m unable to review the actual course content yet because it has been more than two weeks and the kit still hasn’t arrived. The package has been in transit for a very long time. Similar electronics kits on Amazon can be delivered within a couple of days, so this shipping delay is disappointing. I purchased this specifically as a learning kit for my child, and having to wait this long before we can even get started has been frustrating. I hope the shipping process can be improved.
not sure yet. bought as a Christmas gift
